Our final quiz night at the Steam Engine, Waterloo
ONE LAST QUIZ. ONE LAST WEDNESDAY.
Well, here we are. The day we never really thought would come.
After more than a decade of bringing our quiz nights to London's PubLove pubs, tonight marks our final ever quiz night at The Steam Engine in Waterloo.
It's a strange feeling knowing that something that's been such a big part of our lives for so long is coming to an end. There have been hundreds of quizzes, thousands of questions, countless terrible jokes and more questionable team names than we could ever remember.
And somehow, you've kept coming back. We're still not entirely sure why.
We've had the pleasure of meeting some genuinely wonderful people over the years. From the regular teams who've become familiar faces and friends, to the fantastic pub staff we've worked alongside, you've made those long journeys to London worth it.
There have been brilliant nights, chaotic nights, nights when absolutely nobody knew the answers, and nights when the Quizmaster probably should have been issued with a warning for his jokes.
But through it all, we've had an absolute blast.
We're genuinely sad to be saying goodbye. It's never easy walking away from something you've put so much of yourself into, especially when it's given you so many happy memories.
But the time has come for a new chapter, a little closer to home, with considerably fewer late-night journeys and hopefully a Quizmaster who can stay awake past 10pm without needing a recovery day.
But before we say goodbye, we've got one last job to do...
One last microphone check.
One last set of questions.
One last music round.
One last winning team.
One last rollover jackpot winner.
And, of course, one last opportunity to collectively groan at the Quizmaster's terrible jokes.
